What’s this prairie bluebell eggers base gene/genes?
Here’s a picture of my prairie bluebell egger that died this summer. I was fortunate enough to get some eggs from her and a splash ameraucana rooster before she died and I ended up with two splash roos, two splash and one blue pullet...
16 weeks old. Was sold as straight run. I see no comb development yet and have heard no crowing but I suspect cockerel. I currently have too many cockerels and we are working to pare them down quickly.
Photos include the blue Prairie Bluebell Egger from TSC and same age Starlight Green Egger...
I have Easter Eggers, Black Copper Marans, and a Prairie Bluebell Egger. According to everything I'd read, that was the expected laying order. Apparently, my girls didn't get the memo, because one of our Marans has now laid three small eggs over the past week, and our Bluebell just laid a...
Just wanted to share some of my recent hatches. Most of these are all silkie mixes but are thankfully growing more like full sized chicks. My favorite is the prairie bluebell egger that is starting to frizzle. Can’t wait to see how they all grow!! The BCM silkie mix has huge feathers on its feet.
I bought with my mom some chicks. We got them from hoover. Now the chicks are about 5/6 weeks old now and I was going to take my chicks from my mom's . She was being sweet and raising them for me for a bit. Here is the dilemma. We got five prairie Bluebell and 4 starlight green eggers. Along...

Hi! My sister got a rooster accidentally in her order this year. She ordered Prairie Bluebell Eggers and Green Starlight Eggers from Hoover's Hatchery and one of them turned out to be a Roo. She thinks he is a Prairie Bluebell because all 5 of her Starlights came but she only had 4 Prairie...

I got two prairies and they were the same age should I be concerned about the lighter ones comb growth? I got two australorps and one ended up for sure being a male. This is my first year with my own flock.(I included 2 picks of the pullet in question, one of the other coloration of the same...
Hey all :frow
Made a drive out to distant TSC specifically for Prairie Bluebell Eggers. I called first thing in the morning to confirm they had them. Upon arrival no one there knew what chicks were what, and told me the only person that knew the breeds was the store manager that wasn't there...
Hey y’all! This is Merle the chicken. I got her out of a prairie bluebell bin at rural king. I don’t know if that is what she is or not. What are your ideas on her breed. If you have this breed let me see pictures. :) The pictures below are her now and when she was a little one.
Hi!
I just purchased some PBBE chicks and I am new to them.
I was wondering if you all could share photos of your adults so I can see the different color varieties they come in. 😊
I got a white one with a few small black spots and a solid black one.
Please and thank you!
Hello! I ordered our ladies through Tractor Supply (Hoovers Hatchery) in late July. It was "Rare Choice" 10 Count and they came in the mail. We didn't know the what we actually had, but that has been half of the fun- discovering the breeds!
We are 100% sure on all but 2 of the girls. We know...
