First eggs! Now flock won’t go in coop at night.

We got our first egg yesterday and second today and they were both beautiful! Super exciting! Ever since- my flock of 5 girls roost on top of the coop at night, not going in. They go in and out of the coop during the day but could this be because of the new egg laying? Thank you for reading!

    Lice (in Australia)

Hi there everyone, I have a dual problem with lice on my chooks. I only have 2 now and one recently was found dead in her nest. It was quite sad as she was the loner out of the 3 and had a period of being broody. I'd just brought her out of that and all seemed to be going well. Then I found...

    Roosting issues

We have 9 week old chickens who have been living in the coop for a week now. They can’t figure out the roosting bars. We have two roostings bars ( 2x4’s ) over a poop board. MOVING COOP WOES....HELP!

So, my hubby originally put our chicken coop near the house, so on my bad days it wouldn't be too much for me to let them out and feed them. This was great because I could also hear if something wasn't right. However, we have a large group of trees just on the other side of the coop which was...

    Not roosting

i have see. Many old threads about not roosting but am pretty baffled. My chicks used to roost in their brooder box and the dog crate that we let them in while i was building the coop. Now they are 10 weeks and have been in the coop since 6/7weeks. The coop is quite large in comparison to the...

Chickens roosting outside henhouse at night

We built a new coop for our three year old chickens. This one has roosting poles in the enclosed coop area as well as the henhouse. Every night they fall asleep on the outside poles. I've tried shutting them in the henhouse for a few days (with food and water) but they still want to roost...

Will My Chickens Freeze to Death?

Hi all! We started keeping chickens in April and bought a coop from Tractor Supply. I always thought the chickens would sleep IN the coop, but they've slept in the eaves of the run since we put them outside. I always thought it was because it was summer and it was hot. Well, fast forward to...
