We are customizing this Soda Pop display box into an incubator. There are five shelves for automatic turning trays and one “hatching” shelf on the bottom. Each shelf will hold one automatic turner and a hatching basket. This incubator should hatch 200-250 + chicks at one time.

We would like your thoughts and ideas on customizing this soda pop incubator! We will post updates to post #1 as we progress.

That looks so epic

Being someone with no experience using an incubator, I don't have many comments/ideas... just that you'll be getting a lot of chicks with that thing! Good luck!

WOW thats a great idea. I don't have any suggestions, but I would love to see it in action when you get it up and going. Happy hatching.

what will the heat source be, for the size of the incubator, i would go with flex watt heat tape, that sounds pretty cool

We will be using the GQF heating element. It has a proven track record.

Lock down would be in hatching baskets. I was taught to leave the door closed during the entire 21 days unless I had to open them. If the water supply is from outside and all is well, there is no reason to open during hatching.
