Ugh, me too!

I like the soft, deep snow for skiing. Last time I went skiing I ran into my dad who was snowboarding and almost lopped his head off with my ski. Then when I was getting off the snow lift I couldn't get off on time so I jumped off with my skies on and ended up almost knocking the guy down and running through a bunch of cones.

I'm a disaster.

I'm too much of a wimp for downhill, besides the fact that I've never tried it.

Strictly XC for me!

The good thing about that is that there are less people to injure around me.

Lol. I hate going to the snow. It scares me, but once a year my dad forces me to go.

Okay, first question: after you get a colt gelded, is there any stuff we need to do, like keep him in a small pen, quarantine, anything like that?

Generally you would want to keep him in a smallish area for a few days- a week, and make sure he isn't bleeding or attracting flies. As long as he is comfortable though, he should be fine.

How small? Should I separate him out from my gelding?

Whatever size you have... a stall would work, or a round pen, or 20 by 20 pen... etc.
If him and your gelding get along it should be fine. I wouldn't keep them together for the first week if they have never met though.

Thanks Quinn! That's really helpful.

No problem.

My mom gelds tons of racehorses at the track, and they are always fine, so don't worry too much
