even tho she was grown up, she still looked like a lost chick looking for a home, for a place that fits her.

In that moment, as twilight began to settle and the stars blinked into existence, Bloodwing found himself staring at a Scarlet he hardly recognized. Her frame suddenly looked fragile, her expression lost, her eyes wandering, seeking, but never finding.

Instinctively Bloodwing put a wing around her, pulling her close. "It's not too late to resign leadership of Sunflock," he said quietly.

For a moment Bloodwing studied her, this time thinking before his spoke, a rare occurrence. "Do you feel like you need to leave? There could be something you're missing here--these chickens seem to know you well. Maybe they can help us figure out what happened to you."
