¡Help! My chicken is loosing many feathers

My chicken has been doing well and seems healthy but one day we noticed she had no feathers under her (belly) then we found out that she had no feathers under her wings So the way down to her bum. What could it be?

Parasites, molting, or bullying are the most likely culprits.

What is her age? Where are you located? Can you post a pic of the whole bird? What do you feed regularly including treats and supplements?

It doesn't look like molting as the feathershafts are actually broken off. How many chickens do you have and how big are the coop and run areas? Are all the other chickens experiencing any feather loss like that? I think I would go out at night and check for mites where she roosts.

We have a rooster and 3 chickens plus 2 chicks from one of the 3 (not her though) the coop is about 7ft(length)* 5ft(side)*10ft (height) and they have about an acre to run around, only the rooster had similar problems on his neck and feet (has feathers on feet)But he has recovered.

Have you checked your coop for lice and mites? Go out at night with a red light and look to see if you have mites on the roost where she sits at night.

Have you treated her for lice? My chickens were looking pretty ragged so I dusted them with Poultry & Garden Dust and they have really improved. I cleaned out the coop bedding, dusted the coop completely and threw a bunch of Diatomaceous Earth in the new bedding.

Looks like parasites to me. I'd get some permethrin spray and spray the birds, all crevices of coop and nest boxes. Change bedding.
Dont use DE as it does nothing to solve mite infestation.

I also won't have DE at my property and consider it over rated, over used, mostly ineffective, and dangerous.

I also prefer Permethrin spray when needed, usually in the equine section. It is very effective, affordable, easy to use, and stays ON the birds even when they shake out. Simply part the feathers below the vent, under each pit, and to the base of the head on the bake nape of the neck. A SMALL spritz that hits the skin is PLENTY. Soaking is not needed. Retreat again in 7-10 days to make sure and get the next generation.

Also, your hen to rooster ratio sounds quite off. I would expect all the hens (or a favorite) to be over mated.
