Help! This 8 week old chicky is suppose to be a pullet but I don’t think so. It started crowing at 6 weeks old and has been dominant since one day old. It’s in a group of 5 and it’s the only one I think is a roo. Please help. And this is suppose to be an Americana but I think it’s an EE too. So pretty but mean.

I'm gonna have to say cockerel. The red comb and red over the shoulders are pointing at that.
Americanas are Easter Eggers. He is pretty! ^_^

Thank you. I was afraid I was right. I’ve only been keeping chickens for a little over a year so I’m still learning. I found a local farmer to take my roo this weekend. My kids will be sad to loose “Alice” (now Alessandro) but we can’t keep him in my neighborhood. Luckily my neighbors don’t mind the other chickens so I don’t want to push my luck.

I am pretty sure that is a cockerel. But ameracaunas and EEs are mostly the same thing so you shouldn't worry about that

I wouldn't say that. Ameraucana are a recognized breed, where EEs are a mutt, a hybrid that's breed for a specific egg color.

I have to agree with everybody else, EE cockerel.
