Hi, I’m writing because I don’t know how to solve a situation with my chickens. Three of them have developed a yellow coating inside their mouths. I isolated them, and I took one of them to the vet. He tested her for trichomonas (canker), but the result was negative. They were prescribed antibiotics, and today is the 7th day of treatment. I treated the whole flock.
However, the yellow coating in their mouths hasn’t disappeared. The chickens don’t seem to have problems eating — every evening I can see that their crops are full. I did notice, though, that sometimes when they eat, they cough a little, as if something is stuck in their throat.
Could you please give me some advice?
I’d prefer not to go back to the vet since it’s expensive and, honestly, I don’t think we have a very good poultry vet in our area. Is there any natural way to treat this? I live in Europe, and some medications for canker are not allowed here.
