“Starlight green egger” from TSC?

Hi, I am pretty new to chickens; this is only our second year getting chicks from Tractor Supply. There was one bin labeled "Starlight Green Egger", which had chicks of different colors of cream and brown. We got two: one light and one dark colored. I also spied one single white silkie (?) in there (obviously in the wrong place!) which I snagged. However, I am confused because the two green eggers are developing at rapidly different paces. We have had them for 2 weeks and the darker one has wing feathers and the cream one is almost entirely fluffy like the silkie and bantam. Are they the same breed/will they both lay green eggs? Or are they mis-labeled like the silkie?
They are back left and back right in the pic.

No experience with that breed, but I see two general possibilities: 1) they could be different ages 2) the starlight green egger (from Hoover's) is a cross between their bluebell egger and "a brown egg layer", so they could have different moms/dads, though you'd think the difference there wouldn't be so drastic.

Thanks for the reply! It’s interesting how the different breeders have brand names for their hybrids and there are so many. I guess I’ll have to see!

They are probably just different ages. That's common in feed stores, as they have differnt shipments come in at different times. As for the breed, better individual pics would help.

I just bought this same breed from Rural King today. My two look like the chick on the left. The one on the right with wing feathers looks like my Welsummers i bought a couple of weeks ago.

Thanks for the info! That’s interesting, I wasn’t familiar with wellsummers but it does look like one. Maybe a parent was one (the “brown egg layer”.)

Probably too late but they are a sex-linked breed pullets are darker and roos are light colored. So, you have a pair. Pullets generally feather out sooner than roos that’s what was the difference.

Hi HarmonyHomestead! I have some starlight too, and your larger, darker chick looks like one of mine. If the other one you are talking about is the cream/yellow one with two dark dorsal stripes....could be a golden sexlink. I work at a CAL Ranch store and the post office recently mixed up an order of our chicks with TSC, and when TSC called us to come pick up our chicks they had them all mixed up on us! Even had some extra Cornishes and Aracauncas thrown in that weren't even ours! So I wouldn't be surprised if the bins were mislabled/chicks mixed up. Either way you should have a lovely variety!

I have a starlight green egger (Nancy) - she is a delight!! Probably one of my favorite Chickens! She without fail lays an egg everyday, we are in Milwaukee and she is the only chicken still laying. I just hope that her lifespan is not shortened because of this! She is a little roadrunner along with my other new breed I picked up - a midnight majesty maran (Gloria) who follows me around like a puppy and lays the most beautiful dark brown eggs. She stopped laying for the winter now though, but I love my 'new" breed chickens from heritige they have been amazing chickens
