Sage finished then rested his head on Kate's chest.

Kate opened her eyes and looked at Sage, smiling. "I don't think I'm supposed to be here. Shira will probably get mad," she said.

Sage stirred then rolled over then he said Onyx's name.

Kate looked at him. Her heart nearly stopped. She felt hot tears begin to gather in her eyes. She wiped them quickly away, and crawled out of the den. She curled up into a ball in her favorite spot, a cold chill running through the air. "What were you thinking... not yours," broken fragments of words fluttered around in her head. She closed her eyes tightly, but couldn't sleep.

Shira was entering her den when she seen Kate and Sage. She frowned and walked along. Feeling sorry for Kate, she then sits on a rock facing the moon.
