Kate lurked in the shadows, her ears pricked. Her dark eyes twinkled softly in the moonlight, tail wrapped around her as she lay, curled up. A cold chill passed through the air, and she shivered.
 
Stars winked in the sky. Kate huddled together in a tight ball, trying to stay warm. An owl hooted in the dark woods above, and she instantly turned her head upwards, fear making her heart jump.

A sudden grunting noise sounded in the trees near Kate. She tensed as a pair of glowing eyes appeared out of the darkness.
 
Kate shuddered, and looked closer. Out of the bushes came a bear, big, black, and angry. It's eyes glowed, breath coming out like mist.
