They’re there, they’re just hard to find.
The cat in Captain Marvel is actually called a Flerken, it’s an animal-like alien. There are a lot of magical animals in Ta Lo (Shang-Chi) like Morris the Dijiang. There are also Halfworlders like Rocket Raccoon, who are intelligent, animal-like aliens.
