(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens? Yes 3 weeks ago

(2) How many chickens do you have right now? 8

(3) What breeds do you have? ISA Browns

(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens? So far just warching them grow.

(5) What are some of your other hobbies? Im a mixed media artist but painting mainly and building things like a chicken coop, some furniture pices too.

(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share. My partner and I live in the "city" if you could even call it that its more of a tourist town. We have two dogs and some fish. I work at a waterpark resort as a Guest Service Agent. I had worked for a big box hardware store for several years.

(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community? I had found the BYC a long time ago when my friends started a small flock and needed help building a coop. I fell away from it once we completed their build. But now I have my own chicks and I have questions 😁

For starters Im trying to figure out if its okay to leave my girls outside at 3 weeks old should I limit the time they are out? Im in east TN the days are in the mid 80's the next couple of days then drop down to low 60's and over night lows are staying in the high 50's to low 60's (all in farenheit)

I believe the rule of thumb is typically 6 weeks, though some would say 4-5 weeks.

Thanks Im finding its mostly up to opinion. I see some are putting them out day one (with heat source) and some wait the six weeks. I think I'll start them out in the little tractor I built for now at least durring the day. Then move them to the coop in another couple of weeks.
