Tawny rested her chin on her paws and closed her eyes. The beta's den was nicer than the packmates'. It was a cave-like structure made of boulders. The inside walls were covered in moss and the dirt was soft from being walked on so many times. The nest that Tawny was curled in was made of soft grasses and pheasant feathers. Warmth hugged Tawny's pelt as she let out a sigh and drifted into sleep.

Rylee stood on a rock, jutting out of the ground near the river. His paws were wet, as he had been fishing a minute before. The remains of his kill lay next to him. The beta wolf now looked into the forest, searching for something.





Luna was out hunting. So far, she had gotten two rabbits and a fawn that had been separated from its mother by a previous predator.

"Rylee," Tawny murmured sleepily, yet again. "Rylee."

Slowly, he turned, beginning to head back to camp. He looked over his shoulder once, eyes flashing, before darting back.

Tawny grumbled under her breath. Rylee's behavior was making her uneasy.

Rylee returned. He padded towards Tawny. "Sorry, I was out fishing," he replied.



Luna sprinted back to camp, the rabbits dangling limply from her jaws.

"I'm sure you were," she replied cooly.

Rylee smirked, and walked past her, brushing her fur as he passed.[/quote]
"I'm going back to sleep," she murmured. "To early to wake. Tell Luna that if she has a problem with my fitful sleeping habits, I'll be well-rested for a skirmish later."

Tawny turned around, and slunk back to the beta's den, where she curled back into her nest.[/quote]


Rylee rolled his eyes, and briefly pressed his nose to her cheek before trotting out.

Rylee began to sneak out of camp again, when he bumped into his sister. "Luna!" he yelped, surprised.

Luna glared at him angrily. "I thought I told you to watch over camp while I was gone," she growled.

"Yes," he dipped his head, backing back into camp.

( timeskip 30-45 minutes ) Tawny drew herself out of the creek, and shook. Droplets of silver water rained down onto her pelt and to the surrounding area.
