"How many horses and which way did they go?" Buck asked.

"Our herd members or the men's horses also?" Shadow asked.

"Both."

Shadow walked for awhile. She looked around wondering about the horses that the men had taken.

Knight and Spice mostly walked for most of the day stopping every now and then to get something to eat or to get some water. Spice felt unusually sad. She couldn't stop thinking about Sugar.

Blood watched the sun sink down and touch the mountain tops. He was feeling weaker and his wounds were getting worse.

Heliotrope followed and grazed at times.

Sugar slept a little longer then awoke.

Knight found a spot to stop for the night and laid down. Spice at some berries off of some bushes then laid down for the night.

Buck nodded. "I think I know where they might be headed."

Blood woke up to a sharp pain in his side. He looked at the deep wound in his shoulder and saw that the wound was infected and starting to get gangrene.
