Blood put his ears back and walked faster keeping his distance.

Lightning looked down in a sad way thinking. "I don't know. They probably won't like it if you brought some strange new horse to your herd.

Shadow looked up and was going to go help the other caught horses but they were already gone. Three of the men were running at the other horses swinging there ropes. Beauty called the others and started running up the hill into some thick trees.
 
Heliotrope thought about it and said,"do you qualify in any of these departments as being nice?Loyal?Protective?if so then follow me?"he turned and walked away.

Sugar tried to keep the pace but ended up quite always behind him.

River ran to the top of the hill. Shee turned and looked back and the men and her friends being caught. "I will find you.." she whispered. Her heart sank as she watched them being dragged off.

Shadow and Beauty managed to escape with part of the herd but they lost a lot of friends. Once they had got far enough away Beauty laid down breathing hard.

River stayed where she was for a while. She was terrified in a way that wasn't new to her. It was the same fear she had felt when her mom died. The same fear she felt when her father left her. It was a type of fear she had work hard to over come.

Beauty and Shadow stopped in the trees and counted who made it out. Shadow didn't see River and called for her worried.

Lightning followed slowly and unsure. Spice called for them in the field.
