Julie quickly saddled Hope and Hope nickered excitedly as the went to the gate to wait. Julie had given Dirt some feed and water.

The other horses watched him jealously

Cowboy laughed at Hope "Hope you dont lose to awfully!"

Julie grinned and Hope trotted into the pen proudly, ignoring Cowboy. She'd ben made fun of since she was a foal for being half Arabian. Now was her chance to shine. They waited for the signal to go, Hope's excitement was evident although she had been trained to the cue that was given. Julie lowered herself in the saddle, waiting. She knew Hope would go with or without her.

Hope rocketed out instantly, getting nearly to the ground around the barrels for speed and agility. No one had seen her run like this, she'd been out for the past moth, no one but she and Julie knew why. She'd trained every day, perfecting her technique.
