She walked to him, ignoring his warning.  "I'm not gonna hurt you" she said softly.  Hope trailed Julie, the loyal mare ready to help with anything.

She went to the wound on his chest first. "Buddy, some people are stupid and evil with no regard to animal's feelings, but not all of us are like that" she said as she carefully cleaned the wound. "Some of us do care"
