okay we don't use that many vegetables, and grains so that they have enough scraps to cause that.
Do you feed them them everyday? I think they say treats are supposed to only be like 10% of the diet but of course with free ranging it will probably be more but if you have a lot of varied terrain like we do I think it balances out pretty well because of the variety of different stuff.
 
Yeah exactly!! Some people can't and that’s fine but mine are soooo much happier free ranging. I’ve had several losses but when that happens I just keep them inside for a few days or a week until whatever it was moves on. Loss is an unfortunate part of free ranging but I feel it’s worth it because of the happiness and the health benefits in the eggs. They taste way better haha
free range eggs are good. mine are free ranged in a confined pasture with holes that give them acess to the neighbors yard. stupid chickens can't stay in their really nice 1/2 an acer pen. the neighbors whose yards my chickens get into actually really don't care.

Yes they are! Much tastier and brighter deeper yolks. And aw silly chickens haha

they usually get one bowlful every day or 2. My broody hen hatched 2 chicks who never needed any commercial food and they would find all of their own
