I was loading a tank onto the back of a pickup when the winch handle slipped out of my hand. The handle whipped around as the tank dropped onto the truck. My head was too close and it sliced the skin away from my skull.

I had blood pouring down the side of my head as I told my fellow employee that I had to go to the hospital. He looked at the blood running off of me and asked if I was okay. Obviously I said no and then proceeded to drive 30 miles to the hospital where I got stitches. In due time, I removed the stitches myself. End of story.

It’s the bantam Brahma and the 2 Cochins. One tried to bite me today. She was on too many eggs so I was stealing some to throw into the bator. We probably won’t have any eggs for a month now.
