People have different levels of pain tolerance. When I got bucked off a horse and its hoof hit my arm and broke it, the only thing that I was concerned about was that I couldn't find my glasses.
Adrenaline and endorphins are amazing pain killers. When I was in my big motorcycle accident, I remember getting up and thinking, "That wasn't nearly as bad as I thought it would be. I get thrown as hard as that in practice!".OMG!!! I would have been screaming and crying I’m sure![]()

Right arm just below the elbow. It is referred to as a night stick fracture because of the practice of law enforcement officers to have their victim's arms behind their back and then hit right below the elbow with their night stick.Left arm or right arm? True. When I was drunk, riding my motorcycle and coming up on a curve that I was convinced that I would not be able to take, I just got off of the motorcycle. I pushed the motorcycle a couple of miles to a fish hatchery on my broken ankle before I got a ride to the emergency room.Adrenaline and endorphins are amazing pain killers. When I was in my big motorcycle accident, I remember getting up and thinking, "That wasn't nearly as bad as I thought it would be. I get thrown as hard as that in practice!".
Then a couple hours later, I was thinking, "Ow. Ow. Ow. I hurt."
I think my mother takes multiple ibuprofen pills every day, and has for a long time.I said I wasn't going to say anything more to you, but looks like I lied. That stuff will kill your liver. Do you know why my roommate died from cat scratch fever? Because he had cirrhosis of the liver that no one knew about. He popped ibuprofen a couple times a week for years. Don't do that to the people who care about you.
I hope she's also getting her liver function checked regularly.I think my mother takes multiple ibuprofen pills every day, and has for a long time.
She doesn't go to the doctor too frequently.I hope she's also getting her liver function checked regularly.![]()
Intense is an understatementThat's what my face resembled upon imagining what that must have felt like.
Ouch. Thankfully, I've never had to have surgery to repair a broken bone; my limited experience with such has healed appropriately with casts alone.Right arm just below the elbow. If not properly secured, it will never heal well because of the constant rotation of the bones in that area. I still have the plate and screws they put in to hold it in place. I have never been able to throw overhand very well since. I have to resort to a side arm or underhand motion.
It does not affect my ability to shoot. I did shoot my elk with my revolver (left handed) that fall while the cast was still on.
