we were allowed to borrow them from my elementary schoolmy first computer for college was DOS with a dot matrix printer that dad bought with the money from my cow sold. my roommate had windows and an inkjet printer....i was sooo jealous

I used a TRS80 for my grad classes. Had an Apple 2e with a slew of floppy disk and a dos matrix printer....still in a box in storage.I had friends who had the Commodore 64. Others had the Trash 80 (TRS80), I had a Tandy 1000. We were all so jealous when one guy got the Commodore 128.
3.5" disks were floppys. They were smaller and held more data than the 5.25" floppys. My Tandy 1000 started with 128k of RAM and one 5.25" floppy drive. I upgraded that thing to two 5.25" floppies and 648k of RAM! I even put in a 5400 baud modem!I think that was later than the floppys. Any one miss those old green screens?![]()
