I have a question, @R2elk perhaps you can answer or know someone who can.
We live near a large park (about 1200 acres) they are having a terrible problem with raccoon distemper. So our neighborhood now has a problem with raccoons with distemper.
Can chickens get distemper from raccoons? I know dogs and cats, among other animals can get distemper from raccoons' saliva, as well as bites or scratches, but what about chickens?

What about Hansen's disease from armadillos, can that be spread to chickens?
I know that can be spread to humans.

I also found that Newcastle disease can be referred to as Avian Distemper.
