I think scars are like tattoos but with more interesting stories. IMHO.

Laparoscopic was a walk in the park compared to your open surgery.

Mine was an 8" incision. He completely removed the gall bladder and most of the stone filled ducts. After the surgery he told me that the lab people were truly impressed with how rotten my gall bladder was.

I have had staples too. They are flat out nasty. At least with stitches, I can take them out myself.

There is a special tool used to take them out. I'm not even sure I could use it on myself.
