Simmer, don't boil. Boiling can also crack hollow teeth such as bear canines. Take photos prior to cooking so you can figure out where to glue parts back together. Vultures actually found the previous skull that I attempted the fire ant method and hauled it around the yard. That one offended me and I wasn't doing another. Yes, this was after getting off as much as I could. Maybe @Sapphire Sebright has a better method?
