Yeah. When I can get my yard fenced properly I'm going to try a decent sized corn patch and a wheat patch. My sister sent me her mill since she's in hospice and wanted it to go to someone who would use it.

6' wooden fence, they won't jump over a fence when they can't see what is on the other side.

That's what I've heard. I have chain link around most of the yard, but I can get those slats that you weave through the chain to block their sight or actually get the shrubs that I plan to get as privacy screens. I want to plant a couple hazelnut bushes. They are rated for the zone up here and I LOVE hazelnuts.

If they let the bushes grow.

There is a lot more to it than meeting the zone requirements especially since some idiot revised the zones. (The Peter Principle in action).

Hazelnuts are rated to the zone they classify here but I have never gotten any other than the Turkish Tree Hazel to make it through a winter.

The Russian Almonds do grow and do produce tiny almonds.

Yeah. I'll have to try and find out. I know what the city allows, at least. I did a bunch of research on fences, what I can and can't build on my lot, how far they have to be from property lines, etc. In addition, I also try to think about how things will affect the neighbours.
