small price to pay for robbing the hive of that delicious, golden nectar. Were you wearing a bonnet and face net or just trust providence?
Neither and I was just checking. One was getting squished and decided to retaliate. Must have hit a nerve because it was excruciating and burning. At the time of that picture, the upper area of the back of my hand was swollen 1/2" higher than the rest of it. It spread to the whole back of my hand before the swelling started to go down.

I've been wondering if I could take the back corner of my new place and let someone keep a hive or two back there in exchange for some honey.

As long as they're wandering around my garden, we're fine. I leave them alone, they leave me alone. I don't want to try to rob their hive, though. I not only don't like getting stung, I'm allergic to the venom so keeping bees myself isn't a good idea.
I am also allergic. I keep bees anyway.

I used to have to carry an epipen for wasps when I was a kid. A couple years ago I got stung by a yellow jacket and had a panic attack not knowing what was going to happen. Apparently I'm not allergic to wasps anymore. Now those yellow sand, deer flies those are terrible ill swell for 2 days

I got stung by a wasp a few years ago. I drove myself to the emergency room and sat in the waiting room, ready to check myself in if I'd had a reaction. I didn't, so I went home.
