⭐ Kiki's Year Long 🌶️

She's a good fat girl. She'll probably let me reach right under her. Her butt is facing out anyway, so it should be alright.
I never have any problem removing eggs from under a chicken. If it was a turkey or goose, that is a different matter.

I've noticed that guinea hens seem to be exceptionally bitey, too. Nowhere near as bad as a goose or turkey would be, but nippy.

I've had a few bitey chickens. I had one, a Cuckoo Marans x Salmon Faverolle named Grey Girl, that I called the Dragon Queen. She was always broody. And she would absolutely destroy you. She'd draw blood. None of my other hens have ever done more than growl. The turkeys are a little nippy, but not bad. And my geese have let me pet them on the nest and reach under them. The ganders on the other hand...

I take guinea eggs after I shut the hens in the coop for the night and then go raid their hidden nests. No biting involved.

What can be really fun is stealing newly hatched poults from turkey hens. I always try to position myself so the hen is behind me. That way when she flogs me, it feels more like getting a massage than a beating. A turkey wing to the face is not fun.

The only time I can pick any of my chicken hens up is when they are so pancaked they will not move. None of them ever tried to bite me.

Free massage! Nice!
