⭐ Kiki's Year Long 🌶️

If you could
Is this why no one eats toad legs & only eats frog legs? :idunno
If you can show they're not at all toxic AND some large enough it might be worth a try.
The Bullfrogs we hunt and eat down here are about a half foot long (nose to 'tail'). Only the legs have enough meat to make them worth it.

I'm happy that people are finally doing something about those breeds. They just have so many health issues, that it's not fair to breed them. They're often born with nostrils that are too small, and an elongated palate so they can't get enough air. They can also suffer from neurological issues, leg and spinal deformities, etc.
It's the same with some persian cats. I really don't like those scrunched faces. I remember when Himalayan cats were more like long haired siamese. Now they have the scrunched faces with all of the respiratory and eye issues that go with them.

Yeah, exactly. There are even some rabbit breeds with the same issues too.

Part of animal husbandry is selecting the breeders. The other part is not breeding the specimens that aren't according to standards or healthy. The rush to make money means that everything is bred and standards get ignored. Not the animal's fault.

Every Disney movie creates a fad. Back yard breeders capitalize on it. Not being mean, just trying to make money. Ruined the Dalmation, German Shephard and several other working dog breeds. If you don't rescue, research your chosen breed and breeder. A reputable breeder will be happy to talk genetics, health and care. They will also sell you a "pet quality" animal that will love you. Versus the guy in the parking lot selling AKC registered what ever that doesn't want to talk to you ever again.

Caveat emptor.

I’ve been looking at adopting a bulldog whos family is leaving the country & needs to be rehomed.

🧐 Hmmm. Should I take this as a sign? Maybe. Maybe not. Maybe. Maybe not. Maybe. Maybe not…
