The chicken that went broody 5 times last year hasn't even thought about it this year. I'm having to do the brooder, keep them separated and feed them separate. It figures that I get a broody hen a week before I move. One of my pansy fees has been out there sitting on all of the eggs every day that I've collected for the last four days. If I weren't moving, I'd let her try to hatch them.
Borrowing a bird seems odd to me. Not as odd as renting chickens for the summer, but odd. I saw an ad recently for someone renting chickens for the summer. I guess it's a way to see if you want them before actually putting in the full investment for them. The chicken that went broody 5 times last year hasn't even thought about it this year. I should have borrowed the neighbor's broody hen for 6 months. That would have been interesting.
We may have a new business plan. I see it more of a thing in affluent neighborhoods though. I liked the one that had peafowl free ranging. They didn't belong to anyone, they just roamed the neighborhood.Borrowing a bird seems odd to me. Not as odd as renting chickens for the summer, but odd.
