These ladies live nearby and love my yard. They hang out within 10 feet of my front door.

My resident White-tailed does are pretty chill. They'll stomp and snort at me if I startle them sometimes, but usually they'll stay lying down chewing their cud (?) or whatever when I'm outside after dark checking on the birds so long as I stay about 100 feet away from them and they can see what I'm doing. I never see a buck though.

The migrating snow geese are here though. Earlier than normal.

Have you tried talking to them? I talk to these and can often be within 20' or less from them.

I have the starlings so well trained that they take off as soon as I open the door. Fortunately one was a little too slow this morning when I exercised my trigger finger.
