Hi guys my girl was attacked today by a hawk. My bantam silkie literally fought off a hawk for his girls and I couldn’t be more proud. Unfortunately in the midst of everything my girl got a gash (hopefully from the rooster) because I assume a hawks talons are dirty. I have removed her from the coop for now but know she woukd prefer to be back out with the flock. What do I do? I worry about infection and the others pecking since she has blood.

I would clean the wound with saline or mild wound spray and apply some antibiotic ointment. Keep her separated overnight, and if it scabs and is no longer red in a day or two, try her back with her flock with supervision.
