Well, this may help settle it. Ramen is originally Japanese, and it is spelled like this in Japanese:
ラメン - ra me n - pronounced rah meh n

レイメン - this would be re i me n - pronounced ray me n

The Japanese spelling is phonetic, so it's obvious how to pronounce it from that.
