I don’t know…I’ve just been picking up all sorts of accents and languages for awhile now to the extent of adding more flavour to my own so it’s a bit everywhere lately.

I kinda like it that way though ;)

Oh? The packages say "ramen" on them. Never knew a difference 🤔
Probably for the American customer base. Like calling yakisoba "chowmein". The Japanese characters say "yakisoba". The English characters say chow mein.

You know, because Americans can't tell the difference between the Asian countries. :p

You lot don't really eat that crap do you?:th
For 30p a package, it’s the cheapest, quickest option in the supermarket. When you are short on time and have to pick between either rent or food for the month - well, it keeps body and soul together. That’s about all I can say for it. Those of us not at that stage in life have little excuse :p

Typically I’d recommend rice as a budget carb source. Throw in some ground beef and frozen peas and you have a low cost meal in 20 minutes. The beef costs about a pound for a serving and rice and peas are almost negligible.

I used to spend $5/week on groceries because I was that poor. Prices were a lot lower then, so think of it as spending about $20/week now.

1 lbs of stew meat
2 onions
1 or 2 bunches of celery
1 bag of carrots
1 bag of potatoes

Stew for a week.

Yes, that's another one of my go-to recipes for a tight budget. For some reason, I have a hard time stomaching it these days. I think I'm allergic to onions (?)

I have learned to use a lot less onion in my stews. It doesn't take much for flavour. 1 onion is actually enough for a week of stews.

Onions can be hard on the digestive system.

I used to have a lot more gas when I ate a lot more onions.
