Hi,

please help, I hatched some baby button quail 3 days ago. There is one gorgeous yellow one that was born last with cord still attached. She does not seem to be able to stand properly. I don't know if pics help but her legs seem horizontal to ground so she sort of pushes off on her belly, mostly she just lays there and won't eat. I have been giving her vitamin boost water from a syringe but I cannot get her to eat at all. I have tried boots on her as her toes seemed a bit curled yesterday however this does not seem to be helping. I have barely seen her stand straight at all. Please, please help, I want to do all I can. All of her hatch mates seem tiny but so strong already, zipping around and my heart just breaks for her. Many thanks in advance.

Thank you for your reply, I have tried but she won't eat. I am giving her vitamins etc and sugar water but still can't get her to eat. I am wondering if this is straddle leg? I am trying to do exercises with her. Tha is again.

I want to do everything I can. Ai wish I could show a video of her trying to work, her Whole stomach and chest is horizontal to floor, like she is walking on whole legs. I am giving nutri dench now and I have tried to give selenium. I don't know what else to do, along with encouraging her to exercise her legs and not just flop flat on floor. Thanks you for your response.

I had four Coturnix hatch, lost one to wry neck (actually stargazer) really bad really fast. Hatched 12 buttons, 11 amazingly healthy in fact I'm going to have to lid them after only four days, 1 in this desperate state. Both my little blondes. Is this coincidence? Thanks.
