We had best success offering romaine lettuce I think. Later on frozen peas.-

They would also keep me company when gardening, especially if you had a hose watering.

If it makes you feel any better, mine are almost 6 weeks and still very fretful of me. They are curious, but continue to stay at a distance. Had a few incidents where I have cuddled them for a moment (usually before swimmies) and they've jumped out of my arms and ran to the corner. It takes time, and A LOT of patience.

I've kinda just given up on trying to make them like me until they're ready. But I will say, taking treats to them and making a line until they reach my hand has been a fun game. They'll take small steps, come close, stop, then repeat until they reach my palm. If thats not a sign of progress, then I'll just let them be until swimmies. I've had friends say it takes 6 months to a year for them to fully warm up to you, so just keep at it. They'll come around, even if it's a heart and headache until then.
