and my favorite Johnny Cash doing Hurt... which i Belive is a Nine Inch Nails Song.

Johnny does it far better....
It is indeed a nine inch nails song. Johnny Cash never asked for permission, and just released it on his own. Trent Reznor's attorneys wanted to go after Johnny Cash for it. Trent Reznor refuse to take any action and commented that it was one of his greatest honors to have one of his idols use his song. Both sung are great and to me both carry a great but different message.

Doesn't get much better had not heard that one thank you played for BF also
In Trent's version he's singing to his dad, and parts of the song are his father talking to him as a child. It's a very cold song.

Johnny's version is believed to be to his daughter and much more heartfelt. Heartbreaking too.

I was listening to this when I was writing my post about Johnny Cash version. Still dont care for it. Though I admit its poweful in a different way. I dont identify with injected drugs. But the music was appropriate and impactful. I actually like Nine Inch Nails for the most part.

Then I listened to an interview with the Author Trent Raznor. He was amazed at the difference in impact and it pointed out to him that Music is such a powerful tool.

video is only two minutes of an interview

Okay now, I don’t want anyone getting jealous of me when I tell you all the kick-ass concerts I’ve been too.

(Really I mean no laughing and feeling sorry for me!)

My very first concert was Stevie Wonder and Dianna Ross and The Supremes. Then a couple of years later I got to see The Carpenters. And then about 30 years after that I saw The Oak Ridge Boys. In that 30 year break, I saw a handful of people in concert, mostly summer night concerts. I’m telling y’all, I am a freaking hard-core concert goer.
