That picture is actually a Percheron. They came from similar locations in Europe... Both were used as Fighting horses.... The Percheron moved on to field work and the Friesian almost died out.Friesians have always been my dream horse. I couldn't and wouldn't want to keep up with all that feathering and hair though. Whew.

At this show I went to our first I met one of the foundation supporters for the Friesian breed. And dang it if I can remember his name. But he helped me hitch my girl to her Medowbrook cart. And his Keurings assistant helped me with the rest. First American that quilified to do the Keurings... A test for suitablity and conformation done at the trot in hand using a triangular pattern. Stallions and mares have to go through it. its horse inspection to the Nth degree.

there are a couple of blood lines. If they say it s a hitch line then they are lighter and taller and more active. percherons actually have some Arab in their foundation stock. It's so light! I've only ever seen the big beefcake perchies. Love a big ole draft butt though too!
