😍Fancy Feathered Feet Contest!!!😍 Open until Sept. 18th- Enter Now!!

I trimmed all my Pekin's feet feather because they have poops stuck on them all the time. It is very hard to wash it out and also Pekin has different feet to other breed.

I just don't know how to keep their feet feather clean.

Sand if you can get lots of it, or very dry wood shavings - both as bedding are good.

Also snow (yep I know you’re short on snow there 😉), works well with my silkies’ feet.

She doesn’t look impressed does she?

Thank you. Newspaper is their bedding materials that get removed every morning and new one in at night. But that of course is an agent to have poop stuck on their feet. In the chicken run, they have sugar canne mulch....They got that stick on their feet and back feather.

I will try sand as you suggested. Thanks.

Sugar cane mulch could be sticky, here I have to be careful with the chooks out under pine trees. The sap from the pine trees tends to stick to their feathers - sticky situation!
