I first got into chickens this past year, I incubated a few eggs with my first grade students. It was the highlight of the year and the talk of the school.

(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
I have two 4 month olds and two 2 month olds.

(3) What breeds do you have?
My older two are silkies. My younger two were sold to me as “satin” silkies. I’m not sure I’m convinced. My OGs have black skin and blue ears and these do not.

(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
It’s something completely new to me. I’ve enjoyed trying to learn as much as I can and watching them grow and develop.

(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
I enjoy clay art and am dipping my toes into resin art.

(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
I have three dogs, two of which are small breeds which enjoy watching the chickens just as much as I do.
