How did I misread this (repeatedly) as, "light lice?"Cockerels with light ice are the only way to go.

Too late. Technically cock is the most appropriate although the word is generally taboo in most groups of people. My friends that show use it regularly. Because I have raised a variety of birds including, chickens, ducks, geese, guineas, quail, turkeys, pheasants, chukar, many, many species of finches, doves, pigeons, hookbills, and softbills, I often use "male" as it is accurate and universal for which ever species I'm working with. Roo makes me crazy. Rooster I'll use conversationally, but not usually in print.
She'll be okay if someone hits her right in the nip though. Any higher or lower however....... Her chest is like an open target.
(A very, very, very bouncy open target, but an open target).
(What show is this? I don't think that I've seen anything like it before).
And terminology!
