I’m making a second flock thread dedicated to my ducks. Right now I’m still waiting, but my duckies should arrive on April 15th! So For now, I’ll share the progress of my duck run and pond as I prepare for my 4 new girls.

(Hopefully this is in the right forum)

I’ve ordered the largest size Omelet Run, but will be building my own duck house. I have plans to build them a super nice filtered pond, which has always been my dream. I’m not new to ducks, and in fact, when I first started off with chickens I got two Pekins in the order. Those ducks, plus the two others I got after them only got a kiddie pool, so the girls coming soon will hopefully have a luxurious pond all to themselves. I ordered a pump for a waterfall last night, and I think I’ve picked a preformed pond liner I want to use. The next step is to plan the build. I want to create a little enclosure attached to my omelet run, that will have the pond inside. This way it doesn’t take up so much space in the run but the ducks still have full access to it. I will also be building the Duck House off of this enclosure (or build it large enough to include it inside) so that the run itself isn’t cluttered. I’m really excited to share my progress through the build! It may be a while before things get going, but I’ll be posting all of my ideas and thoughts here as we move into the warmer months ❤️.

I want to do something like this. Not quite as complicated, but the waterfall and stones around it will be great. I probably wont do plants, and to keep it from getting expensive, ill make it somewhat simple.

(ignore the captions on the photos, i grabbed it off pinterest)
