1/3 of our chicks have "crooked toes"

my first brooder setup caused most of my chicks to have a broken toe or two. I know they were fine when they hatched and I noticed when I went to feed/water they would run and that was when I saw one get his foot caught in my feeder, I noticed it stopped happening once I changed my setup. Did you inspect them when they got there? If they came that way I also would not use them for breeding. My dom roo is a wheaten ameraucana and he has 1 toe that goes in a completely different direction. I have also had curled toes and they look more like a dibilitating type of disease than the broken toe. Can you post pics of some?
