1 day old chick with red eye??

I have just hatched out some black copper marans under my broody hen. Today when I was looking the chicks over I noticed one had a bright red eye. Actual eye ball, not around the eye. No swelling, but the chick did appear to be closing that eye more. The chick is only a day old. I do not see any other problems with the chick. And it's other eye appears to be normal.
But I was wondering if anyone else had seen this or new what it meant. Is my chick half blind? I caught a few pics of its eye. I hope someone has an answer for me...

Did you put any Save-A-Chick in the drinking water and if not some Probiotic from the feed store will also work just fine also if you have some Apple Cider Vinegar you can also add this to the water ....


You can also get a hand towel wet with warm water and set it agents the eye to help make it feel better and it cant hurt ....

I do the ACV in the water. Haven't done the save a chick. He runs around fine. But I'm going to check on him this morning. Thanks.

ACV in the water is another good one and that should be about all you need

Have you tried the hand towel in the warm water yet ??

No. I checked him this morning and his eye is not crusted just red. But I think it's not as red as it was yesterday. So hopefully it will be all better in a few days.

Oh the warm hand towel is to keep it moist and hopefully make sure it wont get crusty oh that would not be good at all and please keep us updated on the chicks progress ......
