1 day old Quail chick curled feet questions

Ok so i booted her and now her legs are sliding I have paper towels down but the bandades are slippery.... what can i put do to prevent her from doing the splits? I have pine shavings but was not sure if i could use them yet

Yes you can use one shaving from the start in the brooder
