Hi people of BYC,
I would like to know something. I live in New Jersey and am looking for a hatchery. I am looking for the following in these hatcheries:
#1: No minimum of chicks( I dont have a big coop)
#2: Low Prices
#3: Good Feedback
#4: A Good Hatchery with Healthy chickens
#5: A choice of Pullets, not St. Run

If you think you have a poultry Hatchery That meets these standards, Please Post here. Thank You

try my pet chicken. that's where i'm ordering from. but they do need to know what major city you live buy for how many to ship. they do this to protect their babies. go their website and it explains all that. i live 1/2 hour from big city so i can order only 3. it all depends on far you are from a big city. mine is green bay. i'm ordering only 6, incase one doesn't make it or one ends up being a roo. my pet chicken explains alot. and if you still have questions that their website can't answer (like major city closest to you) they get back to you within a day or two. i've emailed afew other places last week and still haven't heard anything. so i'm going with my pet chicken. i hope that helps.

1- Meyer ( minimum of 3 chicks)
1- Ideal/ Meyer
3- Ideal/ Meyer
4- McMurray/ Meyer/ Ideal ( all are about he same) Good quality and service
5- All have choice of pullets

All of these are good chicks. Meyer shipping is $35 for minimum of 3 chicks but good for city people or small coops in your case. cackle has "small orders" of pullets and st. run chickens. They are cheaper chicks and shipping but can only get 1 breed. Hope this helps you and good luck!

I would say Meyer I got a small order of 6 pullets a few years ago and they were awsome! All arrived very well and grew up and layed awsome eggs!

cackle has special.........its called city-town small order special. you can get it as just pullets or straight run.it includes shipping, its for people who only want a few. go to the website, i think it may be what youre looking for. cacklehatchery.com. its 5 birds.
awsome selection, good prices, lowest around, and they just have good good birds! but if you serioly want like 3, ideal.
