1 Hen left!

This week I lost 5out of 6 of my chickens. Most likely a raccoon. I have one lone bird left!! I am going to reinforce everything on the coop and run. My question may be silly but is it ok to keep one chicken? I want to restock but am unsure about what to do! Any help is greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Chickens are 'flock' creatures, and are generally far more happy with company.

Definitely reinforce everything in the coop. If the raccoon is digging in, I find it is best to run about a 2-3ft length of wire around the perimeter of the coop. You can have just one chicken, but make sure you check on it frequently and get more as soon as you can.
