1 inch egg

Went to get the eggs today and my rir laid an egg that was about an 1/2-1 inch big It is so tiny. This is the first time it ever happened. What's going on? Any ideas? She is going on 8 months. Oh and it had no yolk.

Don't worry, they are just getting it all in order right now and accidents happen.

My first 'wind' egg happened about three months after they were all laying. Odd things happen, but no need to worry about it. Just a hiccup in the machinery.

The tiny eggs are so cute! I saved the one 1/2 inch egg as the tiniest egg so far.

Same thing happened to us. Our hen that lays jumbo eggs usually has laid two peewee eggs two days in a row. I thought I was doing something wrong with their feed, but today she laid her regular size biggie egg.

I had one of my best 2 year old layers lay a whole bunch of "fart" eggs just before she moulted. Prior to that, fart eggs were truly random but they did happen.
