On the same day, I started incubating both Welsummer eggs (BYC Swap purchase) and RIR eggs (shipped). 10 out of 12 Welsummer eggs hatched together on the 21st day, and two days later, 19 of 22 RIR eggs hatched together. 2 Welsummer and 3 RIR eggs didn't hatch (never pipped).
I've had other hatches with different breeds of chicks in the same incubator, but all of the breeds hatched together. It was the funniest thing watching - on a Sunday (day 21), only Wellies were hatching in the 'bator (here they are climbing on the RIR eggs):

I took them out and put them in the brooder. No pips or anything from the remaining RIR eggs until early Tuesday morning (day 23), then - Pip! Zip! 19 RIR chicks hatched:

It's been 2 weeks, and all chickies are healthy and happy (together here with Delaware Blue Hen chicks):

Has this happened to anyone else?

I had cochin banties and black australorps together under a broody. The banties hatched 2 days earlier- but I couldn't tell until the big ones started hatching and were almost twice the size. Didn't want to bug mama hen. Now I have banties & RIR's in the bator- we shall see what happens there. The banty eggs are peeping, but the big ones aren't yet.

Have yet to try 2 breeds of the same size though.
Thanks for posting the cute pics!
