1 month olds turning into Mother Hens

    It is the funniest thing.
    I have 3 Polish and a Cochin that are about a month old. I picked up 5 Banty (2 week olds) from a fellow BYC member the other day and mixed them together in the brooder.

    The 5 banties were with mom until I took them and so it was really a new world to be with us.
    All went well and they blended great. I noticed that ever since I got them they have been laying and sleeping under the Polish and Cochin. It is truly funny to see the month olds take over as Mother Hens.

    I am trying to get a pic but everytime I try the step-mothers move the babies and I cant get a good pic of it.

    That is so cute. I think chicks just love being under something warm and fluffy. Just bring the hot chocolate!
